Anthropic Raises $65B at $965B Valuation, Expands Project Glasswing Security Initiative to 150 Organizations

Anthropic has closed a $65 billion Series H funding round at a $965 billion post-money valuation, the largest single funding round ever raised by a private AI company. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with Coatue and ICONIQ as co-leads. The valuation leapfrogs OpenAI, making Anthropic the most valuable private AI startup globally.

The raise coincides with the release of Claude Opus 4.8 and comes amid rapid enterprise adoption across industries. Global enterprises are deploying Claude in core operations, and the company reports growing consumer usage worldwide.

In a parallel development with immediate practical impact, Anthropic expanded Project Glasswing — its initiative to secure critical software infrastructure using AI — to approximately 150 new organizations across more than 15 countries. The project gives security teams early access to Claude Mythos Preview, a specialized model designed to identify vulnerabilities in critical open-source and commercial software.

Project Glasswing was initially launched with a small group of partners including AWS, Apple, and US government agencies. The expansion follows several weeks of collaboration with the security industry, open-source maintainers, and government stakeholders. Anthropic also launched Claude Security, a dedicated product for enterprise security operations.

The dual announcement underscores a shift: frontier AI companies are no longer just competing on benchmarks — they are competing on trust, safety infrastructure, and enterprise security credentials.
