Nvidia Launches RTX Spark Superchip — Its First Processor for Windows PCs
Nvidia has officially entered the consumer PC processor market. At Computex 2026, the company unveiled the RTX Spark — a system-on-chip that pairs a 20-core Arm-based Grace CPU (co-developed with MediaTek) with a Blackwell-generation GPU featuring 6,144 CUDA cores and up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory.
The RTX Spark is effectively a repackaged version of the GB10 silicon that powered Nvidia's DGX Spark mini-PC, now adapted as a full computing platform for consumer laptops and desktops running Windows on Arm. The chip is designed to run local AI agents natively, positioning Windows as an agentic AI operating system where AI workloads happen on-device rather than in the cloud.
Over 30 RTX Spark laptops and approximately 10 compact desktops are expected from major OEMs including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Asus, and MSI starting in fall 2026. The devices will target developers, creators, and professionals who need local AI inference capabilities alongside traditional GPU compute workloads.
The move puts Nvidia in direct competition with Apple's M-series chips, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm in the consumer PC space. Nvidia also announced DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction at Computex, alongside a partnership expansion with humanoid robot makers including US, European, and South Korean manufacturers in addition to China's Unitree.
The broader theme at Computex 2026 is clear: AI computing is shifting from cloud-only workloads to local agents running on personal devices. Nvidia's entry into the PC chip market positions it to control the full stack — from data center training silicon to endpoint inference hardware.
